Paint your own canvas

From Junior Kindergarten to 12th Grade, Collegiate’s visual arts program inspires creativity, fosters self-expression, and nurtures the development of foundational artistic skills. Our curriculum is designed to encourage students to explore their imaginations, hone their creative instincts, and discover their unique voices as artists. Through a wide variety of media and techniques, students gain the skills necessary to master the artistic process while cultivating a lifelong appreciation for the visual arts.

A Journey of Creative Growth

At every grade level, Collegiate’s visual arts program is tailored to meet students where they are, gradually building their confidence and skills as they progress. In the early years, students focus on foundational concepts like color, shape, and texture, developing fine motor skills and an understanding of basic artistic principles. As they grow, the curriculum expands to include more complex techniques and concepts, such as perspective, composition, and advanced use of materials. By Upper School, students are empowered to create sophisticated, portfolio-worthy pieces that reflect their individual styles and artistic identities.

Exploration Across Media

Collegiate’s visual arts program offers students the opportunity to work with an extensive range of media and techniques, including:

  • Painting and drawing
  • Printmaking
  • Sculpture and ceramics
  • Digital art and photography
  • Mixed media and experimental processes
  • Woodworking
  • Animation
  • Design for publication

This diverse array of artistic experiences allows students to explore different forms of expression, discover new interests, and build a versatile skill set.
