Our Talent is a Treasure

Collegiate School is an institution where everyone’s learning matters. We know that by focusing on the professional growth of our teachers, our students’ growth benefits. Through conferences and workshops, mentorship programs among faculty, an abundance of committees and task forces, graduate school tuition compensation, and internal promotions, the abundant variety of professional development opportunities Collegiate offers ensures all teachers are supported and can grow within their field.

If we as a school put a premium on our students’ learning, then we have to put the same premium on our teachers’ learning, and we make sure to support that effort with all the resources we have. Our teachers have a great chance to grow within their fields and their many areas of interest.

Professional Development Opportunities

If you’re an art teacher interested in the traditional techniques of certain artforms, professional development might manifest itself in a travel experience to the Ashanti region, in Ghana, where you’ll be able to learn the craft of Kente cloth weaving.

It might also present itself as close and careful collaboration with a team of grade-level colleagues as you all work together to refresh and reimagine curricula. Whatever it is you’re interested in as an educator, Collegiate finds professional development opportunities that support those interests. Collegiate knows that harnessing the development of its faculty supports the entire community.

“The professional mobility across programs extends beyond the scope of your daily work. At Collegiate, you can form your own path. Collegiate can grow with you when you are ready to grow.”

Rwaida Scott

For teachers at Collegiate, the classroom can be whatever you want it to be.
