OUR LEADERSHIP

Mission-driven leadership

At Collegiate, we place our mission and core values at the center of our operational and strategic decisions. The mission of Collegiate School is to create a diverse and inclusive community of learners committed to a challenging and supportive educational experience that will foster the intellectual, moral, emotional, and physical development of each student. Our values -- honor, love of learning, excellence, respect, and community -- guide our philosophy, educational programs, and daily interactions.

As Head of School, I have the opportunity to witness our core values in action, and a love of learning at the heart of the Collegiate experience. It is rooted in the relationships formed between our teachers and students — a hallmark of our school for over a century. Our teachers care deeply for their students, and the personal attention they provide creates a culture where every student is known, supported, and valued.

Board of Trustees

Collegiate's Board of Trustees is a group of volunteers responsible for the long-term sustainability and strategic direction of the School. This includes determining and periodically validating Collegiate’s mission and setting policies that reinforce Collegiate’s strategic goals and educational objectives.

The Board hires, supports, and evaluates the Head of School who is responsible for directing day-to-day programs, systems, and operations. The Board is required to be a responsible steward of Collegiate’s resources, which includes approving the annual budget, tuition rates, and major capital expenditures. Trustees are guided by the School's values and are dedicated to building on the legacy of thoughtful leadership that has kept Collegiate thriving since its founding more than 100 years ago.
